New Vista Applications Are Removed
The Windows applications that just debuted in Vista are already removed. If you took a liking to Windows Calendar, Windows Mail, Photo Gallery, and others, you'll have to now manually download and install them. They are a part of the Windows Live Essentials package.
Web Filtering and Internet Monitoring Now Outsourced
In Vista, we saw the addition of built-in Parental Controls for Windows. These were carried over to Windows 7; however the web filtering and web monitoring controls aren't built-in now. This functionality will be supported by third-party providers.
However, as seen in Figure 3, the beta version doesn't have any listed. Not having these built-ins may mean that you might have to pay for the service. On the other hand, the filtering may work better. Personally, I recommend using OpenDNS so you can filter your entire network; it's free and works great.
