Looking Ahead
Process definition is at the heart of ITIL. It is impossible to achieve best practices without documenting what those practices will look like in your organization and training your people to use them. In this chapter, you've learned about the different parts of a solid process document and how to assemble them. Using this knowledge, you can now read the ITIL books and begin to build your own implementation of change and release management. In the next chapter, this idea is extended to included logical work flows, which are repeatable procedures that cover a variety of common situations.
