Conclusions
These three diverse sources offer different perspectives on the same problems. The CERT data reflects what is being reported at the sysadmin level within the Internet community. The Farmer data reflects the level of vulnerability out there as determined by a rogue hacking expert working on his own. The WarRoom Research data is a second opinion to the CSI/FBI survey data on the state of information security in corporate America. Taken together, these three very distinct avenues of research all lead to the same conclusion: Cybercrime is real, and the problem is not being adequately addressed.
