Accessing Filter Rules for Address Lists
Two methods can be used to access the dialog box for the configuration of the Address List queries. The Find Exchange Recipients dialog box can be accessed using either of the following steps:
Click the Filter Rules button from the Properties dialog box for the Address List while creating a new Address List. (Refer to Figure 3.4.)
Access the Properties dialog box for the Address List, right-click the Address List object in the ESM, and then select Properties. (Refer to Figure 3.3.)
From the Properties dialog box for the Address List, click the Modify button. (See Figure 3.5.)
Figure 3.5 The Filter rules are used by Exchange to set up an LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) query against the Active Directory.
Other buttons on the Properties dialog box for the Address List include Remove and Preview. The Remove button removes the filter rules, not the Address List itself. The Preview button produces a window with the results of the filter rules. The Details and Security tabs allow for administrative notes and security settings to be modified for the Address List object.
