User Interface
It's a simplified and rearranged OpenOffice UI. I think it's clean and attractive at the top level; after the menus are opened, the new function screens look a lot like OpenOffice.
Unfortunately, they may have gone too far in simplification. Because I write for money, word count is important enough to me that I have it on a toolbar button in Word and OpenOffice. I have yet to figure out how to do this in Symphony.
The Text Properties window, open by default, is common in graphics programs, I've never seen it on a word processor. A click on X makes it disappear.
