Actions & Ideas
- Review your current résumé: How long is it? Do you have paragraphs, or is it difficult to find your skills buried in job descriptions and experience?
- Create a sparse 1-page résumé. Include only contact information, skills list, professional experience, and education. Let a mentor—preferably someone who is in an influential position—review it.
- Make sure your résumé shows what you know (your skills list) and why it is relevant (your professional experience).
- Create two skills lists: a list of hard-technical skills and a list of soft skills. Use your résumé as a tool to assist you in assessing which areas you need to develop.
