Drawing Curved Connectors
The default connector type in Visio is the right-angle connector, which can be moved and twisted as shapes move. But there are two other connector types as well—straight connectors and curved connectors.
Straight connectors just draw straight lines between connection points. As you move the shapes around, this connector stays straight.
Curved connectors are very much like straight connectors, but, of course, they're curved. You can bend their arc any way you like.
To make a connector right-angled, straight, or curved, right-click the connector and select from these options:
- Right-Angle Connector
- Straight Connector
- Curved Connector
For example, you can see a curved connector in Figure 3.17—including the control points you use to make curved connectors bend just the way you want them.

You can also use the File menu to set the default shape for connectors. To make the default connector straight or curved, select File > Page Setup, and click the Layout and Routing tab. Next, in the Appearance list, click Straight or Curved. New connectors that you add to your drawing will now be straight or curved.
