Aligning Text
You can also align the text you enter into text blocks horizontally or vertically.
To align text, follow these steps:
- Select the Text Tool button in the Standard toolbar.
- Select the Shape whose text you want to align. Visio selects and displays the text block, surrounded by a green dotted frame.
- Select the text you want to align. If you want to align all the text, you don't need to specifically select any of it.
- Right-click the text and select Format Text. The Text dialog appears.
To align the text horizontally, click the Paragraph tab. You can see this tab in Figure 3.25.

Select the alignment—Left, Centered, or Right—from the Alignment box shown in Figure 3.25.
To align the text vertically, click the Text Block tab.
Select the alignment—Top, Middle, or Bottom—from the Alignment box.
- Click OK to close the Text dialog. Visio aligns the text for you.
