Moving Text Blocks
You can move text blocks associated with shapes using the Text Block tool. This tool appears when you click the arrow next to the Text tool (the capital A in the Standard toolbar). When you click that arrow, two entries appear in a drop-down list: Text Tool and Text Block Tool.
To move a text block, select Text Block Tool. Click the shape that encloses the text you want to move. The green dotted text block frame becomes visible.
Drag the text block to its new position. That new position can be outside the shape entirely.
Drop the text block by releasing the mouse button. Format the text as you want it by right-clicking the text block and selecting Format Text.
Finally, click the arrow pointer tool in the Standard toolbar to get you back to the standard mouse pointer.
You can see an example in Figure 3.24, in which the text associated with the shape has been moved outside the shape.

However, the text block is still associated with the shape—if you select the shape and move it around, the text block will follow. Nice.
