The authors of ITIL reduced the eight books of version 2 to five books in version 3. Part 1 of this series discussed the service management lifecycle as well as the "Service Strategy" book of the new five-book library. This article continued the overview of the version 3 library by examining the next two books, "Service Design" and "Service Transition." Part 3 completes this series by discussing the final two books of version 3, "Service Operation" and "Continual Service Improvement."
