You probably noticed the No Bullets or No Numbers option in the Bullets and Numbering dialog box. Invoking this option can change your placeholder from a bulleted or numbered list to an ordinary text box.
Sometimes you might want to nudge the bullet or the bullet text away from its margin. To do this, you need to use the rulers that help you position objects within your slides. On the main menu, select View, Rulers. If you don't see the Rulers option right away, wait a second or click the drop-down arrow at the bottom of the menu.
With rulers visible along the top and left side of the window, you can drag the indent markers to move either the bullet icons or the bullet text closer or further from the margin, as shown in Figure 3.10.
