What To Look For in a Wiring Contractor
One word: Experience. Check references. Check with manufacturer's reps to see who they recommend for installing their products. Installing cable isn't hardyou could probably pull cable yourself, but it probably wouldn't be to code, it wouldn't be warrantable, and not enough of your time would be available with your regular duties.
The preferred method is hiring a cabling contractor with the Registered Communications Distribution Designers (RCDD) certification. These contractors have certified technicians to help design your cable plant. They may also belong to the BICSI telecommunications association, a professional not-for-profit organization founded in 1974 to serve building industry consultants (BICs) for telephone companies. BICs are responsible for the design and distribution of telecommunications wiring for commercial and multi-family buildings.
