Specialized Apple TV Programming Is Available
The newest generation of Apple TV (or a second-generation Apple TV that’s been updated with the most recent operating system for the device) can also access customized programming and stream specially-formatted web content from sources like MLB.com, the NBA, NHL, and WSJ Live. Or, you can stream free videos from YouTube and Vimeo, plus view photos from your Flickr account, for example. (Access to some sports information from the MLB, NBA, or NHL requires a separate paid subscription.)
By subscribing to Netflix’s streaming service for $7.99 per month, you can access the service’s vast collection of TV shows and movies, and stream this content from the Internet to your Apple TV device on an unlimited basis (and watch this content of your television set). At the same time, you can download the free Netflix app in order to stream this content to your iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch, or use Safari to watch it on your Mac for no additional charge.
