Next Week…
This week we looked at some of the background for HTML 5, and a couple of the new features that will make developing rich web applications easier. Next week, we'll look at some of the more comprehensive changes that are likely to affect anyone writing web sites using HTML 5. Some of these are relatively minor, such as the introduction of various tags to replace common classes, but others are more far-reaching.
HTML 5 is a big specification, and so I won't be covering all of it in detail. Some things, such as the ability to sandbox iframes, are welcome additions but ultimately not very interesting.
