R. Wayne Ogozaly is a Technical Lead Engineer and Video Architect in Cisco's Service Provider Systems Development (SPSD) group. Wayne has played a major role in designing video transport networks for the top 5 US Cable MSO and Wireline Service Providers. He has made a significant contribution to the design and deployment of some of the most advanced video distribution networks in the US. He is a 12-year veteran of Cisco Systems who has held increasing development engineering roles on high-end router platforms including the 7600, 7500, and 7200. His areas of expertise include Service Provider video transport, commercial services, cellular backhaul, video quality monitoring, and converged network systems. Wayne has recently received a patent for the "Control Plane Protection" security feature, which is the premiere method to protect Cisco routers from Denial of Service attacks.
Prior to his work at Cisco Systems, Wayne was a Lead Software Development Engineer for Raytheon Company. In his role as a "rocket scientist," Wayne led the design and development of real-time embedded processing systems for radar, optical, navigation, and guidance systems. He also led the software development of multiple commercial systems including a radar-based automobile collision avoidance system and a Brazilian Tropical Rain Forest monitoring system.
Wayne holds Bachelors of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics from Binghamton University. He is on the Board of Directors of multiple non-profit organizations in which he is a trusted technology advisor.
