Installing Windows XP with the Adaptec Controller
At the start of the Windows XP install process, you see the following message:
- Press F6 if you need to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver
When you see this message, press F6. You soon see a message prompting you to install a driver for your RAID controller. Press S to specify a driver (see Figure 6).
Insert the Adaptec RAID 1200A floppy disk that contains the RAID controller's driver into your floppy drive and press Enter. You are then presented with a selection of drivers located on the disk. Pick the Adaptec ATA RAID 1200A Controller for Windows XP option, as shown in Figure 7, and press Enter.
You should receive a confirmation message that Windows Setup will load support for the Adaptec ATA RAID 1200A Controller (see Figure 8).
After this point, you can continue with your Windows installation (as if you were installing without a RAID controller in your machine).
