Summary
In this chapter we patched up walls and floors, two elements of a home that take their bumps and knocks. Fortunately, with some inexpensive materials and some clever techniques, the blemishes to walls and floors are fairly easily fixed. Plaster and drywall patching has the virtue of being barely noticeable when done. Working on tile walls is trickier, but the result usually looks great.
Wood floor problems normally yield to some carpentry techniques and glue. We discussed those techniques in this chapter, and we also covered tricks for making resilient flooring look like new again.
Next up are doors and windows. Unlike walls and floors, these elements of a home move. That can make them trickier to work on, but most of the solutions to their problems are straightforward and donβt take up a lot of time.
