iPod/PDA Tools for Windows Users
If you don't have a Mac, the best thing you can use for synchronizing your Calendar, Tasks, and Contacts is iPodSync ($13.95). With it you can synchronize Outlook 2000, XP, and 2003 (but not Outlook Express) with your iPod. Yes, that means contacts, calendar, tasks, notes, and even your email will be synched with your iPod. If Outlook is your central place for contact information, with iPodSync you can take that information with you on the road. There's no need to convert to the quirky iCal or vCard formats.
The other killer feature I really like in iPodSync is the Web feature. iPodSync allows you to get your weather forecast and read any RSS newsfeed. Figure 7 shows how easy it is to set up.
Figure 7 Windows users have iPodSync as an alternative to Pod2Go.
Now, when I read the Notes section on my iPod I can also read any RSS newsfeed from any web site that supports RSS. This is like having a free version of AvanteGo for the iPod.
