Iomega NAS 100d - 802.11g Storage Server
Iomega steps up to the plate with a sweet wireless 802.11g network-attached storage (NAS) server. Billed as one of the first NAS servers with integrated wireless, the is targeted at small office and home office users looking for an inexpensive storage device to easily add to their networks. The NAS 100d, shown in Figure 6, is available in 160GB ($499) and 250GB ($599) capacities.
When Iomega says easy, they mean that no PC software is required to recognize the device on the network. The NAS 100d comes embedded with its own OS (most likely Linux), which announces itself on the network like a file server.
As for expandability, Iomega's states, "[T]he Iomega NAS 100d has dual USB 2.0 (high-speed USB) ports for expandability, letting users connect additional external USB 2.0 hard drives for additional storage-capacity needs. Iomega also plans to add support in late 2004, giving NAS 100d users access to the latest in high-performance removable storage for archiving data."
