Content Layer
The highest level of the Cocoon processing model is the content layer. This is where the source material to feed the application can be found. The content typically can be found in many formats: as XML, relational and object databases, HTML, graphic formats, and so on. Whatever form it takes, however, there will be logic in the implementation layer that extracts the content, processes it, and presents it in whatever form is required for consumption by the end user.
