"An Introductory Tutorial on Web Services, Java and XML" by Eric Armstrong, Stephanie Bodoff, Debbie Carson, Maydene Fisher, Dale Green, Kim Haase provides an overall look at all of the XMl techn0ologies involved in creating a basic web serivce, and includes a look at creating and sending a SOAP message, including an attachment. You should note that while the concepts are the same, some of the package names have changed since this publication as the SOAP implementation was moved from JAXM to SAAJ.

"Understanding Web Services" by Erica Frandsen and Casey Kochmer provides not only an overall look at the various web services acronyms, but also a good look at creating and accessing a SOAP-based web service using Java.

"Building Web Services with Java: SOAP" by Steve Graham, Toufic Boubez, Glen Daniels, Doug Davis, Yuichi Nakamura, Ryo Neyama, and Simeon Simeonov provides an in-depth look at the structure of a SOAP message, and examines important issues such as the use of intermediaries, error handling, binary information, attachments, and even SOAP over SMTP.

"Using RPC-Style Web Services with J2EE" by Martin Bond, Dan Haywood, Debbie Law, Andy Longshaw, and Peter Roxburgh explain the use of the Apache project's Java SOAP toolkit, including proxy generation.

"Web Services, Java, and JAXM" by Frank Coyle looks at JAXM message providers, and what they have to do with SOAP messages.

"Reliable Messaging" by Yuichi Nakamura and Ryo Neyama talks about using the Java Message Service (JMS) to create reliable messaging services.

"SOAP Authorization Methods" by Yuichi Nakamura and Ryo Neyama talks about using Java to add authentication to the sending of a SOAP message.

Online Store

For orders and purchases placed through our online store on this site, we collect order details, name, institution name and address (if applicable), email address, phone number, shipping and billing addresses, credit/debit card information, shipping options and any instructions. Surveys

Service Announcements

Application and System Logs

Pearson automatically collects log data to help ensure the delivery, availability and security of this site.
