Introduction
Ah, at lastit's like being home again. Writing about SQL Server takes me back to all those late nights: working hard, desperately trying to finish my book, and finding that no matter how hard you work, playing with technology (beta releases) is much more fun. Oops, sorry, I digress.
Microsoft has really put the pressure on Oracle Corporation, chasing a fair amount of their market share. With the great ratings on the TPC performance benchmarks, support for clustering, and true integration with other products, SQL Server is the core behind the .NET framework, and Microsoft really is making headway into Oracle's space.
