#6 Processing Recycling
Finally, there have been administrative enhancements to Component Services that allow applications to be automatically recycled based on a variety of criteria. These settings can be found in the Pooling and Recycling Tab of the application properties dialog, as shown in Figure 5. Obviously, these settings only apply to server applications that are not configured as Windows NT services, and can be used to automatically restart the application based on a lifetime limit in minutes, the amount of memory consumed, an expiration timeout in minutes, a call limit, and an activation limit.

Together, these settings provide more stability for the server by allowing an administrator to be sure that applications that develop problems do not bog down the server by consuming more resources than they should.
