Add Background Music
Tap the Music tab to add background music to the slideshow, as shown in Figure 5. By default, the background music is set to None, so the slideshow plays without a musical background.
Figure 5 The Add Music option appears above the None setting in the Music tab list.
The Gallery app contains three different background melodies, and you can hear each melody when you tap on the option in the list. The Slideshow Music 1 and Slideshow Music 2 options are guitar melodies, and the Slideshow Music 3 option is a piano melody. You can stop playing the melody by either tapping None in the list or tapping another tab at the top of the window.
If you don’t like any of the three default options, you can add your own background music by tapping the Add Music option at the top of the list. The Sound Picker window appears at the bottom half of the list, as shown in Figure 6.
Figure 6 If you don’t see a music file, search for a file on your Tab 4 by tapping the Search icon in the upper-right corner of the window.
The window shows songs listed within the Tracks tab. You can select a song either in a music file or in a ringtone file by tapping the song in the list. After you tap the song, the song starts to play, and a green button appears to the right of the song name. You can pause the song by tapping the song name and then resume playing the song by tapping the song name again.
You can also view albums by tapping the Albums tab, view artists by tapping the Artists tap, and view the default Music and Ringtones folders on the Tab 4 by tapping the Folders tab. After you tap an album or an artist, songs affiliated with that album or artist appear in the list, so you can select the appropriate song.
After you select a song file, add it to the slideshow by tapping Done in the menu bar that’s at the top of the Sound Picker window. If you decide not to add a music file, tap Cancel in the menu bar that’s to the left of the Done option. When you select a song file, the song appears at the bottom of the list, as shown in Figure 7, but the song doesn’t play after it’s added to the list.
Figure 7 The selected song file appears with a green button to the right of the song name at the bottom of the list.
