Specifying Locations with Maps
Maps can help you find locations for which you do not have an address. For example, you might know that a café that you would like to visit is located downtown, but you do not know how to get downtown from your hotel. Maps enables you to specify a vicinity on a map where you want to go and generates directions from your current location.
- Open the Maps app if it isnt open already.
- Use your finger to move the map to your desired location, and then tap and hold on the location until the pin appears on the location.
- The location appears on the map, so you can save the location, share it with someone else, or get driving directions. Tap the blue car button in the lower-right corner of the screen to get driving directions.
- If there is more than one set of directions for getting to your location, tap the route (starting with via), as shown in Figure 9. The route to your location appears on the screen as a blue line; refer to Figure 7 for an example.
Get driving directions by tapping the white box and then following the step-by-step directions on the screen.
