Change Settings within the Quick Settings and Notifications Screen
If you want to change what you see in the Quick Settings and Notification screen, tap Notification Panel in the settings list. The Notification Panel settings screen appears as shown in Figure 2.
Figure 3. Change the order of quick settings buttons in the Notification Panel.
By default, the Brightness and Volume slider bars appears in the Quick Settings and Notifications screen so you can quickly change the screen brightness and speaker volume without having to go into the Settings screen itself. If you don’t want this slider bar in the Quick Settings and Notifications screen, tap the Brightness and Volume checkbox to clear it. You can turn it back on by tapping on the checkbox again; you know the slider bar is on when there is a green checkmark in the checkbox.
The Recommended section appears under the Brightness and Volume checkbox. By default, the Tab 4 displays several app icons in the Quick Settings and Notifications screen when you have earphones connected to the Tab 4. You can then access these apps, such as the Music app, more quickly so you can listen to sounds and music on your earphones. If you don’t want these icons to appear, slide the Recommended slider from right (on) to left (off). You can also edit the list of apps by tapping Recommended and then tapping the pencil icon in the Recommended list on the right side of the Settings screen.
Buttons within the Notification Panel at the top of the Quick Settings and Notifications screen appears in the Notification Panel section. The buttons within the section mirror the order of the buttons in the Notification Panel from left to right and from top to bottom. That is, the Wi-Fi button appears as the first button in the Notification Panel, which is the left side of the Panel, and the last button that appears is Power Saving.
You can change the order of the buttons by pressing and holding your finger on a button and then dragging the button to a new location within the Notification Panel section. You can also add a button to the Notification Panel by tapping and holding on a button in the Available Buttons section and moving it to a location within the Notification Panel section.
If you move the button between two existing buttons, then the two existing buttons make room for the moved button. For example, if you move the Sync button between the GPS and Reading Mode buttons, the Reading Mode buttons and the remaining buttons in the second and third rows move to accommodate the Sync button’s new position.
If you decide you don’t want to make any changes to the Quick Settings and Notifications screen, press the Back button.
