Add an Account
If you don’t see an account that you want to sync with your Tab 4, tap Add Account at the bottom of the My Accounts list. The Add Account window appears with a list of accounts you can add as shown in Figure 6. Accounts you have already added have a green button to the right of the account name and accounts you haven’t added have a gray dot to the right of the name.
Figure 6. Sync with an email account by tapping Email in the Add Account list.
You can add a new account by tapping the account name in the list. For some account types, you can add another account of the same type even though you’ve already added one. For example, you can add another email account by tapping Email in the list. But if you try adding another Dropbox account when you already have one, you’ll see a message at the top of the screen saying you have to delete your current Dropbox account to add another one.
After you add a new email account, you may see the Attention window appears that reminds you the Samsung keyboard will store all of the text you enter on the device except for passwords. If you see this window, close it by tapping the OK button.
Now you can type the user ID and password for your email account within the Set Up Account screen as shown in Figure 7. When you’re finished, tap the right arrow icon in the blue menu bar at the top of the screen.

After the Tab 4 verifies the user ID and password for the account, you may see the Add Email Account window so you can select the account type. After you tap the appropriate account type button, you may have to set the incoming and outgoing server settings that you can learn about in Chapter 7 of My Samsung Galaxy Tab 4. Once you change and/or verify the server settings, you can change the synchronization schedule within the Account Options screen shown in Figure 8.

By default your email account information will synchronize with the Tab 4 Email app every 15 minutes, but you can change this time within the Sync Schedule section by tapping the Every 15 Minutes box and then selecting the time interval from the drop-down list. When you finish setting account options, tap the right arrow in the blue menu bar at the top of the screen.
Within the final Set Up Account screen shown in Figure 9, type the name of the account and the name that will be displayed on outgoing messages.

Finish setting up your email account by tapping Done in the blue menu bar at the top of the screen. You return to the My Accounts list within the Settings screen and you can view all your email accounts by tapping Email in the My Accounts list.
You can change the settings including the synchronization frequency by tapping Settings in the Common Settings section and then changing the settings within the Email app’s Settings screen. If you want to sync all your email accounts manually, tap Sync All in the blue menu bar that appears above the Email settings list.
In the Email list, tap the email account name in the Accounts section. The email account information appears in the Sync Settings list shown in Figure 10 and underneath the account name you see the date and time the account was last synced with your Tab 4.
