General Credit Card Management Apps
Beyond the apps available from specific banks and financial institutions, there are third-party apps and services, like Mint Personal Finance, that allow you monitor multiple banking, investment, and credit card accounts, from different financial institutions, using a single app. Setting up and using the Mint.com service (and related app) is free.
However, you will need to provide the app with details about all of your separate accounts. Then, as you’re managing those accounts using the Mint Personal Finance app, you’ll see advertisements, as well as personal finance-related offers, displayed within the app.
The Mint Personal Finance app allows you to monitor transactions and account balances, but does not offer all of the account-specific features you’d find within a proprietary app for a specific account or credit card. What Mint does offer, however, is a real-time, detailed, and graphical analysis of your overall monthly spending habits, as well as advice that can help you save money and potentially improve your credit rating.
It’s also possible to set up alerts and alarms within the app to remind you of upcoming payments, or warn you of low balances within specific accounts, for example.
