There can only be one owner for enterprise-wide standards and processes. This function cannot be shared. For shops that attempt to share ownership for key processes, the costs to IT are enormous:
Ineffective processes
Higher costs
Duplication of efforts
For processes to be effective, they need centralized ownership and accountability.
