Search and Change Settings
If you want to search for a book in the Google Play Store, tap the Search icon in the upper-right area of the screen, as you saw in Figure 2. Type the search term(s) in the Search for Books area. A list of books appears underneath the Search for Books area so you can tap on a book in the list that you may be interested in.
If you don't find a book in the list that interests you, or you want to see a full list of search results, tap the Search button in the keyboard to view a list of books that the Play Store thinks are good matches. You can swipe up and down the screen to view the entire list. When you find a book you want to review, tap the book tile on the screen to open the book's description page.
You can change the settings in the Play Books app by tapping the Menu icon in the upper-right corner of the screen and then tapping Settings in the drop-down menu. By default, books are downloaded over your Wi-Fi connection, the app turns book pages using a three-dimensional effect, and the app automatically reads the book aloud if you have that accessibility feature turned on in your Tab 2 settings. You can also use the volume keys on your Tab 2 to turn pages and use a high-quality voice to read aloud (to use the high-quality voice, you need an Internet connection).
Make a Book Available Offline
By default, the Play Books app uses your Wi-Fi connection to read books in the Google Play store. However, some books that are downloaded by default are available when you're not connected to the Internet. (Note that you can't use the high-quality voice if you want the book read aloud offline.)
If you want to see whether a book is downloaded to your computer, tap the Menu icon in the upper-right corner of the screen and then tap Make Available Offline in the drop-down menu.
The My Books screen appears, and all books that are downloaded have a blue pushpin button underneath the book and author names. If the book isn't downloaded, then this pushpin button is gray.
Download the book by tapping the gray pushpin button. The button gradually turns blue to indicate that the Play Books app is downloading the book. When the button turns completely blue, the book has been downloaded to your Tab 2.
Now that you know how to shop for books in Play Books and read them when you're connected to the Internet or offline, you can store hundreds of books on your Tab 2 and read them conveniently[el]and at your convenience.
