Newsstand
When you upgrade to iOS 5, you see a new Newsstand icon on your main screen. Newsstand is a new app, built into the operating system, that organizes all your digital magazine and newspaper subscriptions in one place.
In essence, all the subscription-based apps you’ve downloaded are now displayed in the Newsstand app. Tap the Newsstand icon and you see a virtual bookshelf onscreen, with all your subscribed-to publications displayed as shown in Figure 2. Tap a publication to open the latest issue and read it onscreen.

You can find new periodical apps by tapping the Store button on the Newsstand. This takes you to a special Newsstand section of Apple’s App Store; this is where Apple now organizes all magazine and newspaper apps.
Any new publications you subscribe to are automatically added to Newsstand. And, when new issues become available, Newsstand automatically updates each subscription, in the background. Think of it as Apple’s version of home delivery.
