Should You Upgrade to the iPhone 4S?
While Apple boasts vastly improved web-surfing speeds available using the iPhone 4S thanks to its new processor and duel antennas, like the other iPhone models, the iPhone 4S utilizes a 3G Internet connection or Wi-Fi. At some point in 2012, Apple will no doubt introduce yet another iPhone model that offers 4G connectivity, which is significantly faster than a 3G connection.
If you rely heavily on surfing the Web or constantly checking email from your iPhone via a 3G connection, you might want to wait for the next iPhone model before upgrading. However, if you enjoy taking digital pictures, the new built-in cameras in the iPhone 4S, combined with the enhanced Camera and Photos apps, offer a dramatic improvement over the older iPhone models.
The cameras that are built into the iPhone 4S can be used instead of a standalone point-and-shoot camera in many situations, and you'll wind up with equally impressive photos. If you need enhanced hands-free control over your iPhone, the new Siri feature offers a very compelling reason to upgrade to the iPhone 4S.
If you have the financial resources to upgrade to the iPhone 4S, you certainly won't be disappointed by the new technology that's built into the phone. However, if you're on a budget, simply upgrading to iOS 5 on your existing iPhone will offer dramatic improvements to your phone's functionality and capabilities, without the upgrade expense.
