Getting Around in the Google Apps

When you open Google Apps you can navigate through the applications in the top-left corner of any product. You'll just click the name of the application you'd like to use and you're there. You can also go to each application directly through the URL of the application for your school's domain. This is an important concept because the Google Apps Administrator can edit the URL and web mapping—something you'll need to know for this exam.

Google Apps Administrators may want to configure desktop shortcuts for users of the Google Apps Suite. To do this trick, however, you'll need Google Gears installed. This feature allows you to save items to your local desktop, work in an offline mode, and automatically switch between offline and online, based on Internet connectivity.

One of the most important features you'll need to know for the Google Apps Administrator exam is how to access and use the control panel for the school domain. The control panel is where the Admin can set permissions, activate services, and customize what's available to the users in your school domain.

The control panel can only be accessed by the Google Apps Administrator account and is accessible through https://wwgoogle.com/a/yourschool.org, where yourschool.org is your actual Google Apps registered domain name.

Application and System Logs
