How to Buy an App
You can find, purchase, and download apps from your computer using iTunes. When you find an app you want to purchase, simply click the "Buy App" icon. You'll be asked to enter your iTunes password and confirm the purchase. It will then be downloaded to your computer's hard drive, and later transferred and installed onto your iPhone or iPad the next time you sync the device with your computer.
Apps can also be purchased directly from your iPhone or iPad using the App Store app. When reading about an app in the App Store, simply click the "Buy App" icon. After you confirm your iTunes password, the app will automatically begin downloading and install itself on your device. When the app's icon appears on your Home screen (usually within one to five minutes), it's ready to use.
In some cases, if an app is composed of a particularly large file, you will need to access the App Store from your device using a Wi-Fi Internet connection instead of a 3G wireless connection. If this is the case, you will be notified when you attempt to purchase that particularly large size app.
If you don't have access to a Wi-Fi Internet connection from your device, you can purchase it via iTunes on your computer. The app will be transferred to your device and be installed the next time the iPhone or iPad is synced with iTunes.
The cost of the apps you purchase will be billed to the credit card (or payment method) you have on file with iTunes. From iTunes on your computer, access the "Store" pull-down menu and select the "View My Account" option to add or change a payment method.
