Registering with the State
Once you have decided on a name, you should jump over to the business side of things and register your new company with your Secretary of State. You'll need to file paper work declaring your company name; the legal structure you want to set up, such as LLC, corporation, or sole proprietorship; the names and addresses of the officers or owners; social security numbers; and so on.
You should be able to get the forms online, and it doesn't require an attorney to do this; however, you might want to get some advice from an attorney about the legal structure you should select. You also can find plenty of information on the Internet about the pros and cons of different legal structures and make an informed decision for yourself.
