Summary
Working on a virtual team and working from my home office frequently has enabled me to better balance home ownership and parenting responsibilities. It takes some extra discipline, and I'm fortunate in having a separate room that I can use for my office. But the hours and days of isolation can cause some issues. You miss the chance to get to know people by spending time in an office with them. You won't have those "let's grab lunch together" opportunities, but you still can create good working relationships. It just means a bit of adjusting to being a virtual worker.
