Troubleshooting

Zfone in stand-alone form and the Google Desktop hard drive search-indexing engine are completely incompatible. If you have both, you'll find that zfoned isn't running if you do a process check:

ps –A

If you need to run Zfone, shut down Google Desktop and start the zfoned daemon manually:

# /etc/init.d/zfone restart

Then choose Start > Internet > VoIP Encryption (or Zfone, depending on your specific menu setup) and restart Zfone.

You can find error messages in these log files:

/var/log/zfone_all.log
/var/log/zfone_errors.log
/var/log/zfone_tmp.log

You can also consult the Zfone issues list, but Linux users won't find it very useful. Be sure to report any bugs you find.

Service Announcements

Other Collection and Use of Information


Application and System Logs

Pearson automatically collects log data to help ensure the delivery, availability and security of this site. If a user no longer desires our service and desires to delete his or her account, please contact us at customer-service@informit.com and we will process the deletion of a user's account.
