Inserting Special Characters
Dreamweaver automatically inserts the codes for special characters if you know the key sequences for your particular operating system and type them into the Document window. The Characters Objects panel contains some of the most commonly used special characters, as well as an option to display a more extensive character map, where you can select accented and less common characters.
Select WindowfiObjects to display the Objects panel if it isn't already onscreen.
Click the menu at the top of the Objects panel and select Characters to display the Characters Objects panel.
Click to select the desired special character from the Characters Objects panel or click the Insert Other Character (the last button, labeled Other) to display an extended character map.
NOTE
If you're using a Macintosh computer, you can find the key combinations that insert special characters using Key Caps, located under the Apple menu. Windows users can access the Character Map to find special character key combinations. Click the Start menu, and then select Programsfi AccessoriesfiSystem ToolsfiCharacter Map to display the Character Map.
